the ins and outs of bullet wounds...

Another days of special effects and another wound down....

Our timetables have temporarily changed and we have the class 2 times a week now rather than one.  I, personally, think this is fabulous.   The class is coming to an end soon and we are cramming so much learning into the next few weeks before our final exams.  This week, fairly new to us, was wax wounds.  I had a few practices with slices and splices, cuts and scars.  Some were successful, others less so, but as the practice continued, the skill came through and each trial run looked more realistic than the last.

Our biggest 'taught wound' was of a bullet hole in and the aftermath to follow.  The wax bullet hole in was fairly simple.  The masterpiece coming out the other side was a little more intense and created with very basic materials.  Tissue paper, latex, colors and blood product.  Pretty straight forward.  Pretty fun.

  1. Hi

Love the title...inspired. Looks really cool, too.

I have collected some reference images which I give to my makeup students whch you may find useful. They are not pretty, but if you like doing this sort of thing (and I do too) then maybe you'll find them handy!

    Regards
    Stuart
